Parenting for Prevention
At CDAC Behavioral Healthcare, Inc., we recognize that families come with different backgrounds and experiences that effects the way parents interact with their children. While we do not have the “instruction manual” for children, we do offer age specific parenting programs that will guide parents on their journey to connected and stable relationships.
*Circle of Security: For parents of infants and toddlers (birth-3 yrs.), this 8-session program focuses on parent-child attachment. Parents will learn how to balance being nurturing and protective while encouraging their child’s need for independence. As parents understand the unique needs of infants and toddlers, they will build confidence and strengthen their relationship right from the start.
*Incredible Years: For parents of children ages 3-6. Combining information with hands-on experiences, parents learn how child-led play, specific praise, setting limits with rules and routines and appropriate discipline strategies are keys to raising children with clear expectations that lead to cooperation and respectful relationships. Parents build confidence and gain support while participating in 10 weekly sessions.
Active Parenting: For parents of children 5-12 years of age. This 7-session program includes the following topics: Understanding Parenting Styles, Cooperation and Communication, Responsibility and Discipline, Building Courage and Self-Esteem, Understanding and Redirecting Misbehavior, and Active Parenting for School Success. Parents will gain effective skills in a supportive group format.
*Currently offering programs online via Zoom.
