National Prevention Week

May 9 – May 15

As a community we can work together to achieve healthy lifestyles and support efforts to prevent the development of substance use disorders.

Alcohol and drug misuse are community problems as well as individual problems.  Across the country researchers have shown that preventing drug and alcohol misuse can lead to fewer automobile accidents, increased workforce productivity, and increased student academic performance.

Community members can model healthy choices for young people by attending alcohol and drug-free community events and staying informed about the most recent drug and alcohol trends in our community.
