This course will provide an understanding of the dynamics involved in domestic violence and will provide a broad overview of the legal, safety, and clinical issues that face families impacted by domestic violence. The effect domestic violence has on children will be examined, and the importance of completing a risk assessment and developing a safety plan will be explored. In addition, the impact on mental health and chemical dependency will be discussed. This class will be interactive and will allow time for questions and interaction from the attendees.
